Say Hello to our providers

Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has worked in the mental health field with young children and their families for over ten years. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Graduate Certificate in Infant-Family Mental Health. She is trained in trauma-informed care practices and is a trained facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting Program.

As a Developmental Specialist, Katie specializes in supporting families who have children with developmental delays and disabilities to reach their optimal potential.

Utilizing a strengths-based and family-centered approach, Katie’s passion is to support the attachment relationship between children and their caregivers, which she believes provides our world with happier and healthier children.

Barbara, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice for twenty years, works with children, teens, families, and adults from a holistic, strengths-based perspective. She is also a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) with specialized training in expressive therapies, including sandplay therapy. Children love visiting the therapeutic playroom for individualized attention when they are experiencing challenges related to school/learning issues, anxiety, depression, loss/grief, trauma, parental separation/divorce, or other family crises. Parenting support and education is an essential part of child play therapy.

Prior to obtaining a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Hawaii in 1986, Barbara worked as a registered nurse in medical and psychiatric settings, as well as with hospice. With that background, she remains interested in adult concerns related to health issues and aging.

In her free time, Barbara enjoys spending time with her two adult daughters, exploring on nature walks with her two small dogs, mindfulness meditation, and reading.
